The toughest race of my life is behind me. That was the most difficult world championship - my eighteenth Doberman World Championship - nineteenth in total along with the FCI World Championship. And I didn't participate on the previous two. I was able to participate on them because the dogs were perfectly prepared. I don't know how successful I was, it could have been better with so many tries. But gradually I had a golden defense, a golden trail, a golden obedience, I won the Doberman World Championship twice with two dogs, which only two people in the world have done so far - Elke Nowakowski and me, I was bronze, silver and now twice gold in teams. I prepared a total of nine dogs for this level. You could say I'm experienced. It could be said that appearing at the world championship is a matter of course. Nevertheless, this year's Doberman World Championship was the most difficult I have completed so far.
Mrouta, the bitch they advised me to give to someone, just get rid of her. A bitch about whom everyone doubted whether she would even fulfill BH. When I went to Italy to pick up Mrouta in December 2015, I was involved in a traffic accident. A guy on a motorcycle rammed into us. It was in Italy. We waited three hours for the helicopter. Despite the help provided by me. I note that I can do it because I used to do it for a living. He died in this evening in the hospital of heart failure. It totally broke me. I basically stopped training dogs. I didn't do anything at all. The kennel was led by Karolína, she also trained the dogs together with our handler Kristýna, and I only lightly organized the things I was capable of. Basically, I couldn't concentrate on anything at all. I just figured and dealt with the defense. But I digress, even though it is related. So I brought Mrouta home in December 2015, together with her sister. One of them was supposed to go to Sweden to an acquaintance of mine. After just a few days, it started to show that the second female is significantly better. Mrouta had its own world. She was lying, not caressing, not needing anyone, just looking as if through us somewhere in the distance. Of course I had her at home. The other one was in the kennel.
Wild, outgoing, the way I imagined a female has to be but I couldn't do it to Daniel - that was the Swede - that I would give him the worst bitch. He's an amateur, I trained him on another animal before, he definitely wouldn't be able to do it. I was convinced that I could do it, and the better one left for Sweden after a month. Mrouta remained. She rode with us, we socialized her normally, but her behavior got worse and worse. She was afraid of absolutely everything. As soon as she saw something unfamiliar, heard any louder sound, she simply ran away and was not. She grew up. The situation has not changed. Maybe the other way around. She was getting more and more stressed. Yes, she had a high drive, she was exceptionally strong on defense in a familiar environment. But that was all. Mrouta is a super producer of adrenaline. There's just too much of it. Mrouta commanded all the dogs at our place. She had the confidence to do so, but walking down the street scared her so much that I was afraid she would die from stress. We found out she was missing a tooth so we let spay her. I thought I would find someone for her, but no one would want her. And so I started to train Mrouta slowly. You can't imagine the hard work.
About three years ago I started to feel the original inner strength that I lost after the aforementioned accident was returning to me. I started competing with my German Shepherd. Successfully, but it still wasn't what I was missing I find in Dobermanns - racing Dobermann. I had Mrouta. Like she was taking all my strength. I knew I had to prove it. Show it off at the highest competition. Whoever I told this to shook their head in disbelief. It wasn't until the breakup with Karolína, my long-term partner, that I fully returned to my feet. I had to start taking care of my business again, I had to take back my kennel, start training and running the kennel, I had to build a new, amazing team, because the old one that left together with Karolína and ended up in the abyss of history was worthless.
And suddenly I could do it again. And it goes. And I hope it works. And Mrouta - the thrown glove that I picked up, a symbol of that terrible time of almost eight years of sadness over the extinguished life of the boy on the motorcycle, desperate to do nothing and even break back, closed this circle of fate by today's successful completion of the highest competition of Dobermans in the world. A blackbird that never raises its tail unless it is at home in its territory, but no one must be a stranger there. Mrouta that is still panickingly afraid of noise, people, suitcases on wheels, bicycles, cars, sudden movements, flying flags, thunderstorms, escalators, simply everything.
Although Mrouta was shaking with terror from the sensations, from her surroundings, she performed amazingly in all three disciplines. Then on the track, on the most difficult terrain, incomparable to the one from the previous day, she won her points as one of the few in the group. 87/87/89 overall eleventh place. I completely succeeded in covering up her bad behavior. It is the biggest success I have ever achieved in the 45 years I have been training dogs. The fact that she also became the world champion in teams is not important. This is just the icing on this imaginary cake of success.
Thanks to breeder Enrico Alessi for Mrouta. Thank you to everyone who believed in me. Radka Smejkalova, Karolína Kočová, Mirco Spada for the final preparation here on site, to my wonderful team K9 International dog school at my home - Simona Mikluščáková, Andrea Marie Pacalova, Hana Tošková, Martina Michelova, Vladimír Gajdůšek for taking care of her, Hanička especially for physiotherapy. I thank the extras who participated in the preparation of Mrouta - Martin Štefek, Jiří Mach, Jaroslav Labík, Jiří Bravenec.
These four also helped me immensely by letting me hang out during their training at their training grounds so that Mrouta could at least get used to it a little. I am grateful to myself for not giving up. I was able to show at the World Championship my amazing male Expert European K9 training base that would certainly get one of the top places but showing Mrouta was much more important. I have excellent young bitches from my own breeding. They are in preparation for the coming years. For more big wins. But I've probably done the biggest one.
